Why ateneo is better than la salle
What's sad is when there just isn't anything to jibe your rival schools about. If you followed the previous threads, you know what I mean. And if you still choose to go to these schools, a certain amount of good sportsmanship is needed they seem to need it very badly, too.
You really should know better than to post such an inspiring subject in this newsgroup. The best thing to do is to write to each of the schools for forms and brochures, THEN ask for specific questions. Asking for "What's the best school" in an open forum is an invitation to war. It was fun reading all those old jokes again, though. As for school affiliations I don't really want to say this but, for those UP graduates out there, did anyone have a hard time getting into grad school in the US?
Unless the UP system had been putting us through a self-serving propaganda, I do believe that UP graduates stand a very good chance of being accepted in grad school. You can probably ask the UP registrar for statistics, if they have any.
I can't find the original post, but I remember you wanting to get into music. You might want to inquire there, as many have already suggested. That's probably a subject where a lot of people can give you advice about. Finally, in case you should go to one of the more "emotional" schools whose students find it to be their duty to physically, at times, defend the school spirit, there is a Chinese proverb that might prove to be useful: "He who swings the first blow admits that his arguments have run out.
I think everyone will agree to that. Good luck and have fun. Heaven forbid, but I pity your patients. BTW, you should also look into which courses will be credited when you come back to the U. Having said that, being involved in the music industry is a very wide criteria. You can be an accountant, an engineer, a lawyer, a programmer, etc. In which case, each of those universities you mentioned would have an advantage over the other depending on the discipline you are interested in pursuing.
I agree with the other poster that location is also something you should definitely consider. Good luck! Well, not exactly. La Salle was and still is a good Medical school but there were others that were better. Columbia Presbyterian College of Medicine is one of them. So I transferred. And don't worry about my patients, the Texas Board of Medical Examiners is pretty well satisfied with me so far. Siguro kung nandoon ang isang taong hindi galing sa UP, Ateneo at LaSalle, ito and sasabihin: "Uwi na ako, hindi ako kasing tinik ng mga hayop na ito Have a nice day!
To make a long story short, I ended up studying in the Ateneo. Being American raised I must say one of the best things I got out of my grduate education in the Philippines was the friends and contacts I made while there.
I would venture to say that I could have gotten the same kind of relationships in any other school, having cross enrolled at other schools as part of a consortium project between Ateneo and other universities in the area.
Many of those friends and contacts are now among the movers and shakers of the Philippine economy and government. Whenever they are here in the US we get together; often times they spend the night at the house between destinations. When in the Philippines we have a hard time scheduling everyone who wants to host my family.
The last time we were there, we never got our hotel bill; the hotel is owned by someone I had known in school. My public advice to the original poster is to choose the school that offers the course of study he is interested in. And make as many friends as you can. I have other pieces of advice based on my personal experience; e-mail me if your're interested. Ateneo joke warped to fit into UP mindset. I overheard this once from hopeful UP applicants If you can stand high tuition fees and low IQ's, go to Ateneo.
If you can stand high tuition fees and no IQ's go to La Salle. Where else can you go then? Adamson University Sounds so American, fellow professionals never bother to ask where is it at, when I am asked where I got my degree. I believe that it is never on what school you are studying or what school you graduated from.
I hope I gave you something else to think about other than schools per se. Hail TC!!!! This girl I met seem to have an Epdepek F-deffect And pronounces all p's as f and all f's as p like Da plawers ar friti The flowers are pretty What should I do or tell her? It's embarassing coz I often try to stop laughing whenever she sfeaks I mean speaks Susie Saragoza who works at SSS? How about a little injection of 'tolerance' or sensibility? How do u think the french or german or japanese or chinese would feel if we talk in their language?
Some of them would look down on us, laugh at us shake their heads in disagreement, but there will be some that will be helpful and sympathetic. And they are the ones that we should emulate! My 2 cents! PP - - - My views are mine alone, the corporation I work for has nothing to do about it!
Concentrate on whatever careers you have going. Don't look back on your Alma Maters. These are just institutions that don't think a bit about you once you have left its doors. I don't know about yours, but my Alma Mater, the Ateneo de Manila, still thinks about its graduates. I still get copies of the "Alumni Guidon", our school's magazine dedicated to its graduates. That's quite impressive considering I've been living in the US for the past 10 years. Andrew Parish "To give and not to count the cost Ignatius of Loyola.
Siya nga naman! I compare this question to: which is better Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday? Obviously, if your boss is from La Salle, then La Salle is best. If his boss is from Ateneo, then Ateneo is best Just so you know, I have never missed an issue of Alumnews from DLSU since moving to the States almost three years ago and I get regular e-mail from the University about things that goes on there.
Dino -- One teqilla, two tequilla, three tequilla, floor! Hanggang alumni news lang kasi ang La Salle at Ateneo. Pagalingan na lang ng alumni Rey -- "Photographers are good people to have, they're always developing". Nasa internet kasi tayo, eh. I can't see we have any other options besides to use words. But a good point nonetheless. What do you propose to do about it then?
It's just a way to catch up on all the alaskahan that goes along with any gatherings of Philippine alumni. The "jokes" meaning the guys from La Salle and Ateneo. I guess that makes the UP guys "jokers. Which one is more elitist? So you have delurked Mang Fred! Are you not disgusted with the kind of posts on SCF?
What I remember about these universities, are the sounds of their echoes e. U P -pi pi pi pi ,etc. G'day, Dante.

But later, I fell in love with my homeland. Life was good there. You can get more information from the admissions office website at stthomas.
